Beirut is an American indie folk project, based in Berlin, that centres on singer-songwriter Zach Condon and incorporates elements of world music, particularly Balkan brass. The band's compelling live presence is often noted, featuring a rotating line-up of musicians proficient in a range of instruments, including brass, strings, and unique instrumentation such as the ukulele, creating a distinctive and melancholic sound.
