Richard Ashcroft is an English musician, singer, and songwriter, known as the former lead singer of the alternative rock band The Verve, as well as for his solo work in alternative and Britpop genres. What makes him a draw on the festival circuit is his iconic stage presence and the anthemic quality of his songs, many of which have become enduring classics of British music.
