Social Media & Content (internship / freelance)
Student or junior freelance role – for someone who lives online, loves music, and has a bit of a thing for making the internet pay attention.
About Festival Abroad
Festival Abroad is the world's largest music festival directory – with 3,000 festivals catalogued across 93 countries, from Glastonbury to obscure weekenders in the Bulgarian mountains. We launched in December 2025 and are already helping 600 people a day find their perfect festival, growing fast through SEO alone.
Our digital presence is scaling quickly. Our social channels, however, are a blank canvas – and that's exactly where you come in.
The opportunity
This isn't a boring "write captions in a spreadsheet" role. You'll be involved from the ground up – helping shape how music fans across the world discover festivals, supporting content that actually reaches people, and getting real creative input into what we make.
As Festival Abroad grows, so does the network. We work with some of the world's most exciting festival brands and music industry partners – and this role puts you right in the middle of that. The connections you build here are the kind you'll still be trading on in ten years.
If this goes well, it becomes a long-term role. We're deliberately structured so that hitting milestones means higher pay – you grow the audience, you share in the reward.
What you'll do
- Short-form video content – Assemble and edit Reels, TikToks, and Shorts – sourcing assets, adding captions, music, and pacing them for maximum watch time.
- Social media management – Support day-to-day publishing across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube – helping maintain a consistent content rhythm.
- Community engagement – Assist with responding to comments and DMs, and help build relationships with our audience and festival partners.
- Content strategy support – Contribute ideas that connect the right festivals to the right people – working directly alongside the team on what to create next.
- Research & trend-spotting – Stay ahead of audio trends, viral formats, and rising artists – then surface those ideas so we can act on them fast.
- Analytics & reporting – Support tracking of what's working, document growth milestones, and help shape priorities based on data.
Who you are
- Obsessed with music – you actively follow the scene, and live & breathe live events.
- Fluent in short-form video: you think in Reels, experiment with new ideas often, and know what makes people stop scrolling.
- Strong written English.
- Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously across time zones.
- A social media presence you're proud of – or a portfolio that shows you understand what makes content grow organically.
- Curious and comfortable with AI tools – you see them as a way to move faster and do more.
- A fast learner who would rather try something, see it fail, learn, and iterate than wait for a perfect brief.
- Previous experience in social media or content creation is welcome but absolutely not essential.
